A thing I've never read anywhere but my gut tells it is so.
Todayβs quick x-country sesh with a friend. Itβs only a breeze. π₯Ά https://v.nostr.build/VYGj.mp4
Wicked!! πIt.
I've been setting up #2 for a specific fail for about 6 months, for the sole purpose of putting a word (command) to it when it finally does happen.
Well today she felt the trap. But thing is, I was so shook when it happened and I missed the opportunity to put the word to it. She's ok, but yeah disappointed in myself a bit. We'll see tomorrow if she is more careful.

Haha. The lead lined cellar is a feature not a bug.
My thinking is in line with yours on that front. For sure.
From this mornings steps. I wouldn't call it a run, more like a Sunday stroll on the trails.
I did open our virtual office today. Not bc the team is working. But for the 1 or 2 extraverts on the team that feel more comfortable when theirs someone else in the the office to engage with while they work.
Today's activities:
Calling friends and clients, for no reason other than to say hi and see how they're doing.
So far the calls have been received well.

I consider myself to be in that camp as well. But I'm keenly aware of how it might effect my thinking. So far, nothing I wouldn't normally have done. Like filling up my basement with some canned goods. I like Tesla tech, but would never have one for the reasons they showed in that movie. Felt this way before the movie, so nothing new to consider there.
We watched the Obama and Julia Roberts flic last night. So how has that effected my thinking?! I wondered for a minute.
Then my sister pops in "hey, we're going to the grocery store, need us to pick you up anything?!"
Me: $200 of canned goods. Mix it up a bit. Don't care what.
Not financial advice, but if this movie does well I suspect the stocks for those canned goods companies are going to see a spike. I no longer invest in fiat. But if I did, maybe that's what I'd do.

When I play tug-of-war with #dogstr #2 I occasionally let her win. Otherwise her frustration level spikes and her demenor turns aggressive.
Government does the same to us sometimes. They periodically let us think we've won something.

Not sure what happened yesterday, but I did wake up a few times to eat. Either my body needed it or someone slipped me a sleeper drug. Either way, I'm glad it happened. Feeling pretty π― this morning. Still some minor soreness. But not yelling out me as loudly as the weekend.

Another sunny, brisky, winter morning on my slice of the π. I'll take that. But wouldn't mind some of this π¨οΈβοΈππΎ. Just sayin!

May you have a day of "healthy day".
A little bit of play time, work time and quiet time.
What's a "healthy day" for you look like?

The last few years, been slowly converting those assets into savings in the form of sats. Much simpler biz model then managing rental properties.
As a youngster I recall my mom shouting at and rushing my sisters and I on Sunday mornings to get ready for church. Me today: chilling in the back with a stogie. Lemme know when y'all ready to roll.

In this case AI said it better.
The allure of the gig economy is undeniable, especially for young folks seeking freedom, schedule control, and potentially higher income. While I personally made the jump from a 16-year W2 job to managing a 1099 business this year, the experience has emphasized the crucial importance of proactive risk management.
This isn't just about me and my team (who, by the way, are young guns just starting their careers β congrats on the new arrival!). It's about everyone exploring the gig life. Ignoring potential risks β the "what ifs?" of finances, health, and yes, even life β can have severe consequences.
It's easy to get swept away by the "be your own boss" dream, but true ownership carries serious responsibilities. Don't let the freedom blind you to the need for planning, preparation, and resilience.
Trust me, this "old dude on Nostr" has seen a thing or two, and I want everyone to enjoy the potential rewards of the gig economy while staying safe and protected.
Just remembered I have a 2pm Christmas Eve party to attend with a neighbor today. My second one this season. Kinda looking forward to it. My gift....a bottle of πΎπ·
I you are your "own boss", you should be consulting with one of these at least once a year.
A lawyer, a tax attorney, a financial advisor.
