Good afternoon and happy Friday #Nostr fam.

I couldn't imagine being a therapist of any kind for (anyone outside of my friend and family circle). I'd have a lot of last minute days off if I were one.

But, man, I sure am glad they exist and the ones that are working with my mom are pretty good at what they do.

So if you are a therapist (Occupational, Physical or Speech) 🙏🏾🤜🏾🤛🏾 you folks rock and I appreciate you. 💜🫂

What are your clients challenges? Mine currently is getting her voice back. So today I played some old voicemails that she's left for me (some over 5 years old). There were some grunts and moans and she excitedly did the tongue exercise (I know, sounds kinky) but her speech therapist showed me what she needs to do. Poking her cheeks with the tongue and swishing mouth wash from both sides of her mouth, etc.

It's all about incentives. 😂🤣 My mom does not like being told what to do (I wonder where I get that from). So her motivation is to get "this dude" (me) out of her face.

Same here. I used Coracle when I first got on #nostr but quickly migrated to #Amethyst and #Damus soon there after. I've used zap.stream but not enough to comment or share feedback on it yet. Love amethyst and Damus though. Ease of onboarding is super simple for my networks.

My guess would be #Android users on #Amethyst globally and iOS users on #Damus in U.S.

Someone gets a call from a friend. That friend is a high school college football scout/recruiter.

That friend says "hey, I'm looking for someone to take this exam for a (high school) class and pass it for this HS athlete".

Compensation for those efforts are generous.

Do you feel bad for taking that job?

Me personally, yeah, I'll do it. But I'd be pissed if someone did for my kid.

If your in your 20's and work in "cutting edge" tech space.

1 - You're going to do well employment/income wise.

2 - You likely pursue new tech bc you are curious. So overtime you'll be a pretty intelligent cookie compared to the rest of your peer group. Stay humble and try avoid being the smartest person in the room whenever you can. Find another room and do it routinely.

3 - When you hit your 30's, just about all your family and friends will try to steal your time for some basic IT like tech support issues they're having. That'll get old quick. But you'll continue to do it for close friends and family...well, the older ones anyway.

4 - When you get into your 40's (for me late 40's) you're not racing to the front for new tech developments. You keep up with the conversations and developments, but you're probably not working or building in those lanes. Instead you're probably be getting better and better at what you've already learned. Doing new things with old "know-how". There's real money in this space bc value is realized in real time by folks who need what you know TODAY.

My sisters say that mom and I wouldn't be getting the same amount of community help that we are getting if it were "the girls" up front caring for Mom. That they would be expected to quit their jobs and put their lives on hold. The women that come around to help, only do so bc I am "a boy" caring for his mom.

My sisters are probably right. I can't fix that. Next...

But both I and myself sisters know that it's a team effort and I appreciate them immensely.

Mom walking more steps, and awake more hours during the day.

She went to visit a friend today. Gave me some time to knock out some work and she was dead beat tired when I picked her up.

I complain that her home is like a grand central train station, but there's always a smile when her peeps come by to pray, sing with her and feed her.

I'm only giving her 3 out of the 11 meds the experts say she should be taking.

Only my sisters and I know this.
