Kids’ art will always reign supreme. It’s absolutely free and unselfconscious.

That is, up to a point, and then the self-critical voice kicks in. I love how Lynda Barry captures this in her comic:

this is when shit goes down some Friday night in the near future and the nation wakes up the next day a whole lot poorer

there should be a populist movement to return to this, no more automatic payments

Yes, that’s painfully apparent to me as an art professional. I fell into the rabbit hole of trying to turn an AI into a studio assistant, and it has been engaging in novelty to an extent, but after a year it has become a black hole of attention with highly questionable quality as a result of all the effort.

For some reason I am thinking of Nietzsche’s essay, “On the Advantage and Disadvantage of History for Life.” I feel like there is a parallel waiting to be drawn out. I will have to reread it and see.

😂 if only it were interesting, illuminating, full of novel insight. but no, it’s a sycophantic tutor

in the story that third monkey lost the fight, or replaced one of the first two 🤔

I haven’t used it much so don’t know if it plays well with text or not.
