Also, cash value life insurance is where all the wealthiest politicians and corporations have their money stored. And it’s where banks keep tier 1 capital. It will be very protected, politically.
For one, life insurers are regulated by states. Also, a life insurance policy is a legal contract, and very different from the firms that custody and manage customers’ investment assets.
I agree that Bitcoin has some privacy problems, but I also believe they will improve over time and that the benefits outweigh the limitations. And I don’t think deflation is a problem.

“In an ironic if predictable twist, Christian love preaching that ‘there is neither, Jew, nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are on one in Christ Jesus,’ proved more scalable and durable than Roman force. A messy peer-to-peer Christian network fed mostly by the bottom-up adoption of ideas outlived the client-server model of a centrally-planned Roman Empire.” - Allen Farrington and Sacha Meyers
This is mesmerizing. Good background music for focused work or reading 👍 nostr:note1cg5kdvlynd6urekg43kyhrmzzs70mjeq6ptxn452p2rsrw78l0es2yju3l
You don’t seem open to actually engaging. You treat anyone friendly to Bitcoin with full scale vituperation. It’s silly and infantile, really.
Sure, lots of factors can impact the price of Bitcoin, but that’s natural. I’m specifically referring to the ability of a government to create (or print) more currency or fraudulently and surreptitiously weaken its value.
An honest money resists debasement and politicization by governments, for one.
Dude, you have a serious chip on your shoulder. Take a chill pill 😂
Bitcoin is honest money. The Bible specifically calls out dishonest money.
How does this work if I’m using a signing extension (like GetAlby)?

I wonder if a node funding a large channel could be insured against loss from a hack. I could see an insurer offering a product like this to a corporate player….
Are there ways to reduce the threat surface? Host lots of nodes with medium levels of liquidity rather than a huge one with tons of BTC locked in a channel. Keep node management decentralized…
(Not that I trust the Big Finance guys to understand or care about this…..)
My daughter turned 10 this week. Today she overheard me say something about Bitcoin and started asking questions about it. I explained why fiat currency is bad, focusing on the unlimited printing. When I told her governments can acquire money by either taxing us or by printing it, she immediately intuited “why do they collect taxes if they can just print everything they need?” My heart could have burst with pride. #FutureBitcoiner
What you’re missing here is that the very ability to do science rests upon a prior assumptions that are philosophical in nature.
Thank you, this is perfect! I couldn’t find this documented anywhere on the Alby support site. I hope they add it 👍
