I'm glad I started looking into what my transactions look like once they hit the blockchain. I need to clean up my stuff cause how I use lightning and liquid is not as private as I had assumed. The privacy benefits only come if you are very VERY intentional, I need to stop sugarcoating it for newbies.
Mine was Kryptonite by 3 doors down. I only know that cause it was the only song i had on there for years
I built a paywalled article bypass browser extension, an adult content blocking extension, and working on a kid friendly browser with built-in parental controls. Funds would go towards a new ln node since my rsbp4 is currently hyperventilating 🫡
I've strayed away from any sort of chain-analysis stuff in the past as it was a learning curve I wasn't ready to eat yet. As I was making a lighting payment today, I decided to see how private my transaction was.
Context, I was using Phoenix Wallet to make a payment to an on-chain btc address. I was able to spot my transaction relatively quickly and noticed that my LN channel size was also viewable from the block.
Is that simply because I made an on-chain purchase? What should I be doing to make sure that information isn't revealed?

... just create a random wallet...
goTenna mesh with Blockstream satellite offers some promise. i havent seen a real case example yet, but with some tinkering, it would make for a solid weekend project.
I use to stress out about people getting into bitcoin later than me but having the ability to amass much more than me in a short period of time. Then I realized that the vast majority of these people will run back to fiat at the first sign of trouble.
The value of being surrounded by a bunch of toxic psychopaths, for me, is that we've grown together and help each other to persevere until we are convinced in mind and body that we will never sell.
I appreciate you freaks

...like...what sort of complications?

I wrote a blog post teaching newbies how to buy nonKYC Bitcoin based on my earlier post this week and thought I would share it with you guys for some recommendations before I share it out with everyone else.

My wife just got her holistic health practitioners license. It's a weird transition from "recommending" certain products to her clients, verses having the ability to send them a curated script list with nothing but a peace of paper in between.
LNproxy is a straightforward privacy tool designed to enhance the confidentiality of lightning invoices. It provides users of custodial Lightning wallets with improved payment destination privacy, while also offering greater receiver privacy for those running their own nodes.
At present, every Lightning invoice includes the public key of the destination node. Since this key is fixed, if one invoice is associated with you, it becomes possible to infer that all subsequent invoices are also generated by you, leading to the assumption that payments are directed to you.
GM.. ☕️

that was technically directed towards nostr:npub1vxlhjzeqjjhmqdy4e8sndt8kzklqlnxzew2mtt8mtakvalsckp3qa0gnvx comment 😅
After rereading it, i see that i need to go back to my basement and deal with my teauma offline lol
sorry yall
good grief, I didn't realize how much trauma I carried from failed lightning network projects gone wrong. I've already blasted nostr:npub1q8w7u2ymrghfpp6v5dpg57jpgaj2djk340a2npwzq8n64ksk6wxq8aw95u and nostr:npub1vxlhjzeqjjhmqdy4e8sndt8kzklqlnxzew2mtt8mtakvalsckp3qa0gnvx this morning before my cup o' tea or even a GM. Sorry ya'll.
i dont believe the concept is a failure at all, im not siding with those who claim its useless, im simply not going to pretend that people don't have problems with it cause that is a quick way to lose everyone who does to alternatives.
