CENTRALIZED PLATFORMS ARE SHITCOINS.
BITCOIN PROTOCOL DISCUSSION SHOULD HAPPEN ON NOSTR.

this is kinda dangerous, is it not? It seems like a few devs a pushing changes to the core software without the wider public knowing about until the changes have been merged in
That's why nodes have the power to not upgrade. Exercise it.
I can't wait to finish school and start developing Bitcoin. I want to be the @ODELL of developers. No more bullshit.
Citadel dispatch panel time ?
DECENTRALIZATION IS: FREEDOM, FAIR, AND FUN,
Nostr opens the floodgates of transparency.
SUNLIGHT AS DISINFECTANT
This is so disappointing π‘
No more bullshit. It's time to run bad actors out of #Bitcoin. We can replace them with good developers.
Working on it.

This is not good
This warrants an investigation. We rely on an open process. Bad actors must be held to account, without it becoming a witch hunt.
π
Nostr seems the obvious choice for this.
Is this blown out a bit?
Can't people that have similar interests meet and talk or create together? Once they submit the next release anyone can see all the changes to core
What do you use for running your node? I wanna move to knots but for now I don't think there's a good guide for it.
Bruh, nostr is centralized yet
It's not about what is more centralised or not, it's about what presents the most favourable conditions to achieve strong decentralisation.
Nostr presents a a much more favourable environment and and stronger incentives to achieve a much higher degree of decentralisation than StackerNews.
One is built for it. The other isn't.
always have been
This is what makes me paranoid of the covenants talk. It is made to seem that talk has arisen naturally, when it could easily have been schemed behind close doors.
John Carvalho is right when it comes to how cautious we should be in changing bitcoin, and not running the latest version of core until absolute certain
Totally agree we need Nostr or something else more public and verifiable for these discussions. If I want to be charitable I think a lot of this stems from honest misunderstandings and garbled posts being misinterpreted. Chaincode should publicly confirm if they sent the author a cease and desist letter, and the author should clarify and disavow that they threatened or ever intend to threaten anyone in Bitcoin dev with a lawsuit.
We should also keep in context some private conversations are a sad but logical consequence of the CSW lawsuits. We should still push for open discussions but I just ask we acknowledge that devs are afraid of being sued for fair reasons and until the COPA case is done I donβt blame them.
Bring the discussion to the decentralized house
not all of it, for what should be obvious reasons

I agree
The poster sounds like CWS, do his technical/security comments on the PR checkout?
I agree with you completely.
