YouTube is laggy and malfunctioning for me since yesterday, I think they realized I'm not watching the ads.

youtube has been laggy and malfunctioning for years this isn’t new

grrrr

I watch, ad free on Brave Browser. Never had a problem..

Yt-dlp is fun to play with. DRM doesn't work but there are things that are not DRM. I think there is a work around.

Mine was laggy ( on Firefox) for a couple of weeks. Eventually the bottom third of the screen got a green haze over it when the cursor was on the screen or when playback was paused. I tried disabling some extensions I wasn’t using (redundant VPN etc.) and it helped a lot.

I use Brave so I never watch ads. Has always worked fine for me.

Sometimes they tell me I'm not connected to the Internet. But I'm just not connected to the ad server.

I have noticed many weird things occurring on the other social media sites. Facebook: everyone in my group got a weird warning notification for something someone else posted? Instagram implementing new features like warning me to schedule send a message because of the time.

Reddit is the one that is bothering me the most. It is continually showing me the same post throughout the day, but no matter what I can never open the post. It seems to be a daily occurrence and the post will stay the same for a day or two, then change. Idk if i am making it clear.

Something beyond the content feels off with how the sites are operating.

When using a kodi plugin that uses the api i now have to sign in to prove i'm not a bot. Suddenly happened last week..

I don't understand that people do not get fed up about all this. I still see near zero alternatives. Yes there are the sites/platforms but they have no content.

Now that they have the monopoly on content the enshittification begins.

Quick, delete your cookies before they send the Ad Enforcement Squad to your Wi-Fi!

Same. It was inevitable.

Use pipepipe. Ads are removed automatically.

they're playing 4d chess; they wanted to see if you would advertise youtube on some decentralized social network

you didn't pass the test

Been like that for a minute here.

If you want a solution I used, go ahead and DM me. I'd be happy to help.

Lately they have been a little upset:

For me it's unusable with Brave Browser, but it's been working flawlessly for many months now with Firefox + uBlock.
