I used to meditate a lot.... And by meditate, I mean sitting with eyes half closed, and observing my thoughts or breath.

I found this to be energizing... I could get by on less sleep (5-6 hours vs 7-8).

For every ~ hour I meditated, it was ~an hour less of sleep that I needed.

Not sure what is happening to the neurons during meditation. I do recall a talk with HH Dali lama and physicists on you tube that may provide some insight. ✨🙏

Any reason you stopped or don't do it as much any more? I try to meditate often and after trying a few forms, feel most comfortable with something called anapanasati. It's got four phases to it, each of which deals with different aspects of body, mind, and principles. Afterward I tend to feel more relaxed, more grounded in a certain view of reality, and often times energized to follow the natural energy of my mind. This is why I've been posting about a variety of things. It's just how it works up there. Thanks for the video tip, perhaps I'll search a bit for it. 🙏

I stopped that practice bc it took me too much out of the world. At that time, I met a group that practiced dzochen and we met for sky gazing practice....which was a blast. And also practiced life as a meditation.

I'm currently doing a yoga asana practice that fulfills the meditation needs and is efficient bc it hits physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Also trying to organize a group to go sky gazing so hope to resume that in the New Year.

I think Alan Wallace also has a video on physics and meditation... Ill look for that. 🙏
