Good afternoon!

Today is the start of #nostrees a decentralised initiative that I hope you all consider playing along with.

I plan to guerilla garden trees in my neighborhood and physically tag them as #nostrees. As I can only afford to buy so many myself, I hope you consider zapping some sats or joining the hashtag initiative by planting and tagging your own newly planted trees in your area.

As things are getting late for barefoot here the next tree will likely cost around 0.001198 sats or £29 (thank you inflation). If we reach this I will mark the tree as "paid for by Nostr with Bitcoin"- or if you have a better idea let us know in the comments.

I will also do my best to orange pill the nursery when I buy the next set of trees and if you are planting your own #nostrees try to do the same too.

If you can't afford a zap just consider reposting this so we can #grownostr in the real world and show certain antagonistic groups* all the #nostrees #bitcoin and #nostr has helped zapped into existence!

I don't like the idea of "guerilla" planting because it implies non-consent. are you planting on people's properties without their permission?

the world does need more trees so I like this idea.

I think it'd be cool to include a QR code on each tree so people can zap a note and learn more about what you're doing.

I agree in so much as going in and physically placing seeds in the ground on someone else’s property, that’s at the very least trespassing and I’ll be the first one to tell “get off my land!” From my front porch with a shotgun in my hands lol. Throwing seeds to the wind as you go down the road? I might could get down with that lol

If you send me about 5 bitcoin I can turn it into a all singing all dancing food forest/community coppice without the guerilla aspect.

Land is very expensive in England I have been trying to buy for about 15 years. Last auction I looked at ended up being about £40,000 an acre!

Might as get something done before I kick the bucket, it's just pockets of housing association land where contracters butcher the shrubs or cut the grass. I won't be planting in people's gardens...

I think you can do great things if you work with the local community. offering to beautify their neglected spaces for free can open up conversations to talk about Bitcoin and nostr too.

I think it’s awesome!!! I’m a big fan of fruit bearing trees on public land since, well, anyone can eat them. What do you think?
