This is the bmpcc OG, a 12 year old cinema camera that you can pick up on eBay for $400. It only shoots 1080p. The battery life is shit. The audio sucks. The iPhone in my pocket is technically superior in every way and still this is my absolute favorite camera. It has the most amazing images. Some sample footage below.

Amazing. The saturation and contrast is markedly different
This one is unique because it’s an older CMOS design (Fairchild) combined with the Super 16 size, which gives it a noisier, grainier, more “filmic” look compared to modern super clean CMOS sensors.

I really really like the colors it creates, everything is so harmonious. And would have have loved if it could zoom 😄

Yeah this camera shoots in raw so that’s just log to rec 709 + color correction.
Got the same with my Lumix G3 with modded firmware and Fijinon 55mm 1.8 lens. Everytime I shoot with it. I'm like.. wow. 😮😎

I think the lens will be superior. Looks beautiful either way and I am missing the feel of older photos compared to modern camera phones.

Totally get it! The BMPCC OG just has that special cinematic look no phone or modern camera can really replicate. It’s all about the character of the image.
