How do you lift heavy dumbbells from the floor without hurting your back?
Asking for a friend that just hurt his back today, because I'm stupid and uneducated.

that's how you're supposed to do it. the pain means it's working. don't lift with your legs. that's how you hurt them.
Tighten that core and bend from knees.
Start with lighter dumbbells.
Free Dad advice…
Before you start with weights, first of all improve your grip. Get one of those handheld grip trainer things off Amazon that go to +60kg.
Once you can do 25 squeezes, turn the spring 1/2 turn to increase the resistance.
Don’t touch free weights until your grip is >>50kg. This will pay massive benefits in terms of form and stability and probably reduces injury risk 20 fold.
Lots of people who regularly use the gym (even after years) still have weak grip, and this hurts their control and impairs all their training.
Sounds like great advice. Will look into it.
Thank you, sir!
