I've heard that name too. My guess is he told Trump exactly what to say about self custody and CBDCs to get votes. I highly doubt he actually gives a shit about it and he can't be trusted to follow through with any of his campaign promises.
Yea it definitely sounded script. The fact that Bitcoiners are falling for this is a bit concerning. I thought they would be able to aee this for what it is. Naked political pandering for votes. If he gets elected he will be all about the dollar and keeping that money printer going. Fiat expands their power, Bitcoin limits it, why would he support that?
I doubt he is really, except that it’s better to have a general ally than an enemy. Liz Warren and her ilk will have exactly zero influence over Trump’s decisions I suspect.

Trump has the biggest audience in the world.
Him talking about it puts bitcoin on the mind of millions of people who otherwise would not give it a thought.
Think his supporters will buy Bitcoin because mentions in a speech??
On mass no.
But some people will be interested.
Maybe they Google it.
Maybe they finally talk to their friend who has been telling them about it for years.
The majority of people need to be told to do something or that something is approved by a person in a position of authority before they will do it themselves.
They need to be given the go ahead before taking action.
Trump might be giving them the nod of legitimacy they need.
