I always thought pro free speech and anti-govt and anti-war was liberal, and so I would say that I'm liberal.

I dont know it it has changed in the sense there is a consensus around the language and meaning, but rather a malware has been installed in the minds of many altering the code relating to such labels on their OS’ and creating a ton of confusion

I don't think it changed, those things are still essentially liberal principles, It's just the politicians who claim to be liberal are lying or at best misrepresenting what liberalism is.

The correct term for what you describe is now called a Classical Liberal, or libertarian (small L not the political shit show of the current Libertarian Party in the US.)
The United States was founded on classical liberal ideas of Adam Smith, John Locke and others.
It’s actually the liberals that co-opted the far left terms and rhetoric. Not the other way around. There are no Marxist or socialist liberals. They use it as a rhetorical mask. Same way there aren’t many real capitalists in corporate America, they are mostly bureaucrats who call themselves capitalists

Establishment Dems are corporatist fascists. And to be honest I would lump communists and Marxists into the corporatist camp too because there is very little difference between them and the other corporatists across the political aisle.

The “Marxist” ideology that spread from his thought was not Left. Communism is definitely not Left, especially the Stalinist strains. Stalinism was a right wing (basically fascist) counterrevolution against the emergence of decentralized peasant revolution in what would become the USSR.
All of their rhetoric was from the “Left” or what we call the “Left” now. Almost none of their actions supported their rhetoric. Just like the establishment Dems in my opinion.

Aleksandr Dugin, who is a Russian Satanist that is very close to Putin and created a political agenda called Traditionalism, hates liberals. He was even on Alex Jones talking about how liberals are destroying the world. Jones agreed with him of course, not realizing that Dugin means individual freedom.
