I still think this is by far the most valuable thing we could build for the #nostr protocol. Being able to sell and base reputation off the same network as your social graph is something no other service can offer.

You can’t carry your EBay reputation to Amazon, you can’t update your Facebook page for all of your Amazon customers. The universal network graph is a novel value that only #nostr can fulfill. nostr:note1kekg93s4qgm3atxu3qd3rxnj4msvsfgmfju8hlf3kca36wmrtf7sgteevt

? I buy stuff off of my fellow nostriches all the time. What are you talking about?

Lol, can’t tell if this is a joke about buying drugs, but what I’m meaning is building a formal interface for products and services, a rating system for accounts and products, along with a way to view or share embedded products on the social clients as well.

Haha I didn’t consider it like that. No serious response. Stuff like garden garlic for planting. Nothing illegal

I’ve often thought a Shopify model where individual sellers have their own sites but then aggregating that into a platform with reviews and global search would work well. Sellers would own all their listings and could move between platforms. You could also join seller pools to take advantage of discounted shipping and independent fulfillment warehouses could compete to attract sellers who don’t want to do their own fulfillment. I would love to see Bitcoin built in.

nostr:npub1vtlqystr2056cqvuy8uehq5g757362029krqv5axw6gdw37kunkq7ajrhd is also looking into this through CivKit. It's still early days for decentralized markets, but the future looks bright.

I think this is the right way 👏

This is the sort of thing that I’m really excited about. Nostr can be so much more than what we have right now.

I think I might be too late to help build any of this by the time I learn how to code 😂

Yes, and ebay. There's a marketplace out there to sell your stuff for sats, but the network effect is very low - we need the userbase to grow! Remove the centralization and misincentives and we could have a truly open marketplace for so many things both for local and remote shopping.

Yes, and etsy and ebay (and Outschool for the growing flock of homeschoolers). I wish I had some inkling of how to code and help make some of this happen. So exciting. nostr:npub1yfy0upgc5s802gqn40vcvq4lkugs6h65f4pl2ml92ghxyu6c9ldsxq3tu8 that sounds rough. I had no idea.

Isn't this what @civkit is about?

decentralized social graph aka the honest social web. i’m here for it!
