✍️ An Ode to Cholesterol

Cholesterol gets a bad reputation - particularly LDL.

We dislike it because we find it insinuated within the lining of our arteries.

We blame it for shortening our lives.

It is important to remember the function that the LDL serves.

It is patching up all the damage you are doing to your body.

Where inflammation and tissue damage go, LDL follows. It is part of the healing process.

So, the next time you want to throw shade at LDL, remember what your blood vessel would look like without it.

Inflamed, fibrotic, leaking, and throwing clots. You'd stroke out in no time.

Improve your habits, and thank your cholesterol for keeping you alive this long.

#[2] is LDL bad for you?

HDL is referred to as good cholesterol .. acts like a brush and sweeps plaque from arteries. For some reason I always have unusually high levels of HDL. Doctor says it’s a good thing.

@signal_and_rage ₿𓅦: Interesting, thanks for sharing! But what about LDL, is it really bad for your health?

You tell me?

Idk. I’m new to learning about cholesterol. The one thing I’m convinced of is that genetics plays a huge role in how we react to diet.

Wow. I had never heard of this before and it is honestly comforting Thanks for sharing #[1]

to LDL 🍻😂

Cheers

Off to eat some cheese 🐭🧀

This is the truth that big pharma doesn’t want you to know. If you are taking Statins, you are slowly killing yourself one pill at a time. Your body makes cholesterol for a reason: your body needs it!

👍This is a chart I’ve been thinking a lot about recently.

What causes the inflammation and tissue damage that the LDL has to step in and solve?
