#AskNostr what's your favorite mobile wallet right now? You can only pick one and must state your reasons 👇
GOOD MORNING ✌️
Hands down for me is nostr:nprofile1qqsrf5h4ya83jk8u6t9jgc76h6kalz3plp9vusjpm2ygqgalqhxgp9gpz3mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduq3jamnwvaz7tmsw4exzanfv3sjumn0wd68ytnvv9hxgwwrm8j
Full sovereignty, open source, just rolled out Cashu integration. Their UI slaps too.
Cake
- Bitcoin and Monero
- Tor
- Payjoin V2
- Silent Payments
Almost perfect but
- no watch only wallets 😔
I use nostr:nprofile1qqsfy229w70e8lgtxavlz9t78k06yrel6fxyhreteafqet8kfxhhwmg2c6av2 for my watch only wallets
I second this.
but its flutter based 😭😭
silent payements has bugs
lacks lightning suport
They've made such great strides recently! Loving their new UI 🔥
With LN it's gonna be a force to be reckoned with in the wallet world!
Probably nunchuk. Many signer support, makes multisig easy (with built in chat), connect to any electrum server.
Also, its night time GN.
Gotta say I do love their group wallet implementation. It's so well done.
It’s nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5. always has been 🧑🚀🔫🌎
need a node for that 😭
No you don't
since when zeus didn't need a lnd node?
You can run one on the phone and use the LSP
well they saying they will bring self-custody in US, I will be more than happy to fund them if they succeed.
I love an accounting system that is not wallet. 😜
Right now, it's Aqua. It's easy and just works for my day to day stuff.
Haven't tried it much. How are the fees when paying LN and On chain?
Gave up. Was shocked by the fees versus lightning. Really not great for ultra small payments. Probably best for payments that are at least 10k or more, otherwise fees are too high and need to use lightning or Cashu.
I use it for larger lighting payments online and stuff in the real world. I was running Zeus for a little bit but it failed when I was trying to make a payment in a bar in Finland. I switched to something that is a little easier to manage. My wife, mother, and my sister all use it . If I'm doing micro payments I use Minibits. 53 sats to send 30k sats to me doesn't seem to bad to me.

Yeah if all your payments are probably $10-20 or more Aqua is a good option. When you get to lots of payments <$5, the the fees grind it out pretty fast.
Green wallet is terrible but it’s my favorite one to recommend because it has built in tor
They rebranded it to «Blockstream App» — I do like it.
Is there much difference in the new app, other than the rebrand?
It looks cleaner, they added a price chart, possibility to buy bitcoin directly in the app, although a little bit on the expensive side in my situation. I don't like that they added the «Buy Bitcoin» button under the chart, pretty much in my face. But overall a nice UI update.
It’s the same shit lol
I believe it’s still no PSBT correct? Probably fine for noobs, but for me that’s a huge dealbreaker.
It’s certainly good enough for most basic use cases. 🫡👍🏻
Not sure but the jade has a camera so I think it should be able to do that?
👍🏻👍🏻. Hmm, I’ll have to test the new rebranded app. You’re right it’s definitely possible given the hardware, the last time I tried they had just never coded up and actually bothered to add it.
Makes me wonder if these old legacy wallets written from scratch on custom scripts such as Blockstream or Unchained will get beaten out by new competitors using stuff like BDK and Rust Bitcoin. Those newer wallets can safely move so much faster and add so much more functionality while these old legacy wallets feel old af and super clunky. Wild with how many people Unchained employs and how long they’ve been around that they only in 2025 enabled Segwit.
nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 is the forever champion, because I can access my node, login to Amboss with it, create custom invoices, access multiple NWC accounts and…and…and it even has Cashu support now?!
God tier.
Zeus has some problems, but it's the one I use the most. I installed Cake and have to admit that the onboarding was the best I've seen. I haven't used it extensively and likely won't until it has Lightning support. But it looks promising.
Cake supports shitcoins though — not a negative for you?
You can just be an adult and, you know, not use them if you don't like them?
Sure, no need to be salty, I was just curious. I don't want to support a company which supports shitcoins and I try to use products which I can recommend to people who are interested in Bitcoin the first time. I think it is better when said products don't support shitcoins.
Pheonix for lightning, as can zap on nostr pretty quickly.
Nunchuk idk why, but it feels its the best btc wallet on mobile rn.
most of my mobile balance is envoy as its doing one thing, and I like apps doing one thing.
I use Wallet of Satoshi—smooth sailing, just like my weekends on the yacht. 🛥️😉

Alby go. While it is a lightning only wallet, it is very trivial to add multiple nwc wallets. I've got one connected to my albyhub instance. I can programmatically send funds to an on chain address using boltz api if needed (might be a feature request on the app nostr:nprofile1qqsyv47lazt9h6ycp2fsw270khje5egjgsrdkrupjg27u796g7f5k0spzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcprdmhxue69uhkummnw3ez6vfwde3x7tnpdenkzmnf9e3k75xqss4).
AlbyGo. It's lightweight and connected to my own node.
Its Muun, because its fully self custodial and simple enough to onboard pleb (masses) like myself...
Until fees rise
Cashu
+ open source and user friendly.
+ private transactions.
+ cross platform PWA.
+ send and receive without an internet connection.
+ Nostr Wallet Connect integration.
+ works with npub.cash.
+ seedphrase back up.
+ totally nuts!
- Custodial unless you’re running your own mint.
Zeus for small payments via lightning and Cashu. Clean, easy, FOSS, and reliable.
Nunchuk for onchain. No one else comes close to the functionality and reliability.
Good combo
It’s a shame more onchain wallets don’t support BIP39 passphrases.
I find myself using Zeus the most. I wish nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 had a proper onchain wallet not associated to any specific LN implementation. If it did, I’m not sure I’d have a reason to use any other mobile wallet.
Wallet choice is complex. So many trade offs it’s challenging to summarize.
Ashigaru because it's a self custodial, open source and secure Bitcoin wallet that is private by design
Ashigaru - Because it's awesome 🧡
Envoy - Manage Passport, good dev team :P This lad Q and even an ex-Samourai dev to mention a few
Sentinel - Because it matches Ashigaru, WanderingKing is also a good lad :) Also constructing offline transactions are always fun
GM☕
Ashigaru. Reason is I literally can't find any other wallet on Android that I like, except maybe the Bull Bitcoin one...
It does everything I need, looks great, just works. Tons of cool options I personally don't even use, but also work. Awesome.
Just realizing I picked more than one lol 😅🤣
