I read a note recently that made me want to experience nostr without zaps
I’m doing this to think more about purple pilling
I’m discovering that purple pilling won’t always lead to immediate orange pilling
And maybe social won’t be nostr’s main great use case, but the way social media is going, it will need to be here for the next generation
Nostr won't always lead to orange pilling and social won't be Nostr's greatest use case, but there's a time and a place for them. We need social freedom now and Nostr's social aspects are filling that need for us. I believe that as Nostr grows in popularity and people experience freedom to transact socially, they'll understand the need to freely transact monetarily too. It's hard to see the need for Bitcoin until you experience it and Nostr at least opens the door to those scenarios.
Futile grandstanding. Online activities eventually require the exchange of money. Bitcoin is simply the money best suited for a globally distributed network of people who need to occasionally exchange money. What do you believe this exercise will prove for you?

More or less doing something similar, bc with my nostr client of choice, zapping is a pita and I don't see when I receive them either.
I'm sure I'll fafo from time to time on other clients, but def not on the daily.
