In the last year there has been a major increase of crypto asset holders being doxxed and threatened by gangs (cutting of fingers etc) to share their private keys.
KYC of crypto assets is a life threatening danger if your KYC gets doxxed in any way (if you have considerable assets that it).
KYC on most exchanges is fine, but private wallets should always remain anonymous.
