do people want bitcoin ownership to be in the hands of a few companies? I didn't want us to buy too much at Square/Block because I didn't feel good about this.

You should buy anyways, in one way or another public companies will buy it. Might as well be Block.

Definitely. Much rather have block buying it

i don’t know. I’d rather us earn it. Will think through more again.

You can always find noble ways to redistribute later on… I agree with #[3] , stack now so that the crooks can’t….

Get the good ppl have it earlier.

I agree. It will at least be in the hands of someone who cares about humanity and then you will be in a position to redistribute it to those in need.

Do both. You can later do cool stuff with the bitcoin treasury like LN liquidity you are doing. You can also OTC it to other good companies that are not ready to market buy. Etc…

have your employees earn it

You could buy some and send me some @jack!

♥️

Please buy it so you can sell to us plebs.

I’d rather companies who know it’s significance and worth (theoretically) at this stage own more and have greater power because of it.

In the future, investors are going to demand it as dividends and employees are going to require it as pay #500YearOldCompany

It’s a tough one. If you only by a little it signals lower confidence to the plebs!

I think a DCA strategy like El Salvador is the best example for people to follow.

Don't think many think like you Jack so I'd go ahead and own it

Smash 💥 buy as much as possible then post screen shots. You’ll be a hero lol. Then zap ⚡️ to plebs value4value everybody wins!

Only if those companies are pro bitcoin innovation; i like the idea at least some significant chunk of Square/Block's 8000 btc will be put to work in C= and provide more lightning capacity for everybody.

No but that’s irrelevant, that’s not how an open market works. If you don’t someone else will.

I certainly don’t want that.

I was thinking about this too all morning..

Bitcoin is meant to be decentralized. That’s the whole point. I agree with you on this one.

People want Bitcoin to be in the hands of good people, responsible individuals who prioritize and act to reduce corruption and manipulation, thereby promoting fairness in a proof of work society.

don't hold back!

Better Block than Microsoft

No, I don't like it but I don't have the power to change it and I'm very happy to not have that kind of power. Free market FTW!

You can always sell your bitcoin to the community. In fact, you have to pay your expenses in bitcoin. Are you already having bitcoin only connections with other companies???

The priority right now is to get capitalisation to a level where separation of money and state can happen. Till then buy and hodl even if it concentrates coins is debatably a good act. After $1m per coin it’ll be a reserve currency and you can sell it; it’ll be on the denominator of pricing goods and services, and won’t impact capitalisation.

In this scenario I’m assuming Block will be doing impactful work with its gains rather than seeking world domination.

If this was a different world rn I would agree with you-but it isn’t.

I don’t see many issues with the one app that has helped my older family members get comfortable buying bitcoin.

Waiting patiently on the hardware wallet Jack.

With Satoshis coins that haven't moved and the lost coins, there is inherently a good percentage of "centralized" (in theory) coins already but they are in good hands the same way generational wealth like Rockefeller money is in a trusted state. So IMO good actors holding coins in a trusted state seems acceptable in these early stages of adoption
