It explains a lot, doesn’t it? It’s a journey.
It does! I’ve read that people go through depression realizing how hard life has unnecessarily been. I’m scared to really look into it 😔
Mindset, I guess. It’s also liberating to finally have tangible answers and to learn the upsides of ADHD.
Could you share a few upsides 🤗
Often high energy and enthusiasm when interested in something , an ability to hyper focus and achieve when one’s interest is piqued, often fun people to be around, etc. There are more and I’m a noob to this space myself. It’s real though.
this is just modernity. you can't "check one thing on your phone" without getting distracted and 20 minutes later you still haven't "checked that one thing on your phone"
I used to think that but apparently adult women with adhd are pretty forgetful, procrastinate, and often change topics during conversations. That’s me 🫣
When I was little I did go to a psychologist to see if I had ADHD, and the result was negative, but now that I'm in my 30s I started to think that that result was wrong, because it's not normal to get anxiety because I have to be productive
I asked my therapist a few months ago to test me for it and she hesitated then several times and then just ignored the request.
I think there is something off on those tests. Professionals don’t agree on it.
They give you the questions to ask those around you as part of it and then you have to follow up, but my ADHD doesn't allow for that. 5 years I've been trying to finish : )
