You know how ants have these scouts that explore stuff around trying to find something interesting to eat and when they do, they report back and all the other ants come?
Trolls have the same - with similar attention span and comprehension capabilities.
Except now bots are doing it as a data collection scheme, crawling the minds of people reacting to it.
With trolls there are really only three effective approaches
- fully ignore the trolls
- explain the troll without adding any emotions
- bore the troll out of their mind and try shifting them to a good contributing member
