Preach
We used to do this at the cybercafe theme nights
what games were you playing?
Good times; best of times. Weekends full of beer, pizza, and smack talk. Get off my lawn Discord. https://video.nostr.build/24a30a51de708c283106ada54a7964efdb8c70611dd4cfa11e279e2a4846167a.mp4
I spent many days and sometimes nights doing exactly this. Some of the best memories.
Oh man, I miss fragging n00bs.
custom doom maps and PvP over serial cable ππ
God we literally had marathon lan parties back in the day. I have a very distinct memory of being hyper excited because we got our first 24-port switch.
Our old switch broke and then somebody's dad I think helped us buy the 24-port switch. It must have been pretty hilarious for the clerk to see a gaggle of nerds super excited about getting a 24 port switch so we can continue our lan party.
Agreed. Had tons of LAN parties with friends, at one point we were doing it almost monthly. I planned and hosted a few larger scale events as well (~30 people). I miss it.
Your post is causing quite a stir.

What games would you play at a LAN party today?
Star Craft (amazing how timeless this is)
Left 4 Dead 2
Payday the Heist
Age of Empires 2
Sonic Allstars Racing
Team Fortress 2 would make my list.
And if I could get Warcraft 2 or Return To Castle Wolfenstein running on a modern computer, I'd totally rock those too.
War craft 3
Serious Sam
Unreal Tournament
Halo
Team Fortress
Gary's Mod
Damn, miss this so much. Brood War, Frozen Throne, Q3 Arena, CS 1.5...
the joy when I got this bad boy for my birthday:
