Somebody new come in come in and tell us about boats please ! We are trying to be broadminded maxis here and not just talk about the coin 
The Nostr is the only protocol I'm using now after dropping the centralized ones years ago, so you could say I'm a Nostr maximalist.
That said, if you come from centralized platforms with a good engagement record, I would sincerely advise you to keep using them and do not expect to simply switch over in an evening.
You will get a lot less engagement here and may become frustrated. Instead, just be patient, post consistently as a secondary platform, or maybe mirror all your posts elsewhere here.
I think the Nostr will eventually grow and give you lots more satisfaction, but it will take time and we don't want people to burn out!

I’m a bit confused by the whole relay thing. Would you be able to suggest suitable relays or how I choose suitable ones. I’ve seen a list of em but 🤷🏻♂️

I really don’t have any real tip for that, because everything is brand new really
what I do is I find and add relays that other users have in their profiles and just copy from there
I mostly pick up either relays that are run by trusted community members or relays that others already use
But you can also very easily host your own solution too, as a later step
You are too late for me actually. Hopefully you can help out the other plebs around here.
