What eink device? I recently switched from a locked-down kindle to a very open android Boox.

I have Syncthing installed on it and when I want to read something later I either bookmark it with a particular tag (to a self-hosted bookmarks app that I can access from the eink) or if it's weirder - like a nostr post or a PDF - I drop it in a "read later" Syncthing folder.

This is admittedly not ideal since I'd have to somehow export the nostr post as a PDF, markdown, or other archive style, but it does get the job done.

Ah I'm waiting for my DC-1 to arrive! I plan on doing much the same setup on that.

Syncthing is a game-changer for this kind of thing. And self-hosting RSS, bookmarks, ebooks library and other resources is the icing on the cake.

I’m still getting the hang of DC-1 it’s my first android device but love it so far

My first android was a GrapheneOS phone about a year ago and it had a bit of a learning curve but I'm way down the other side now and love it.

I do not envy doing the android learning curve on a (very lovely) alien device like the DC-1 lol

I'm really looking forward to mine arriving next month. Seems like a total dream device.

I'm on the same batch as you 😀

pretty excited.

what do you use yours for John?

also what's the color eink thing?

I use mine for note taking in meetings and marking up pdfs. Mostly work but also journaling as I learn to use it better.
