Core has a leader?

I don't know. Do they? There seems to a person driving the discourse there. Whether they have an official title or not is irrelevant

Bitcoin CORE is not Bitcoin

Bitcoin core needs to die. Bitcoin is a monetary network. Not cloud storage.

Or, people who disagree with Core should use a different implementation.
