As long as your capital is making more than the interest rate, then not so bad.

this is generally where I land on any mortgage, particularly if you can put the difference into btc

it’s a simple formula:

earn more than you spend and save the difference in sats.

scrutinize the spend but enjoy life, it’s temporary and tomorrow is not guaranteed.

So no speculative attack of the system?

only if you self custody 😌

😂, das what I'm saying

Yes earn more than you save. And if you've saved enough to pay off a house enough times to where there's no risk to your family.

Then why not take a 50 year vs 30 year and the monthly savings go to cold storage?

presumably 50y would carry a higher rate than 30y. i suppose if i had my forever home itd be worth considering.

Fair, but still heavily subsidized and under inflation 😁

is there any benefit to the 50 over 30 if you sell before it matures?

I just think if you can borrow at a printing subsidized rate for your lifetime and give BTC 20 more years to eat the markets then it's good

Until we know comparable rates I'm not sure what the advantage is

assumes 30y and 50y are both 6%. usually the long end has a higher rate. if theyre the same it’s a no brainer.

Agreed

Still trying to understand how it would work and what results it could lean short and long term.

Just watched this video about it, interesting points, and a good channel overall 🤙🏼

Love Infra’s stuff lately

Yeap, I like his analysis, very good stuff

It's below market rate funding at a fixed rate. Basically monetary stimulus carried out as an end run around the Fed.

Obviously you could get yourself in trouble with leverage, but if you're going to use leverage, this is as close to Saylor's terms as mere mortals can hope for.

I'm not saying I'm going to lever up my house more, but I'm sure not pre-paying my 3% 30 year fixed mortgage...

I’d cash out refinance as much as I can. As long as the rate is low.

Cheap debt does not create cheap housing, most of the time it’s the opposite.

Yeah, housing prices will go up
