What is a maxi? Sounds like a vague shitcoin term.
Speak for yourself. I think it is cool that he made it an option as a legal currency. Bitcoin is open source as you should know. Nothing in El Sal forces you to use a custodial KYC wallet as you implied.

Option? He made it a national currency by fiat (diametrical opposite of bitcoin ethos and free markets) then deployed via custodial KYC Chivo wallet on his subjects and enticed them with a little freshly printed money to use it. Laughable. But simp for a dictator I guess.

Look, I’m no Nayib simp, but calling him a dictator is laughable. I don’t know your country of origin, but he was elected by tremendous margins and holds close to a 90% approval rating. Nobody else is even close to that. He’s completely changed the identity of El Sal.
