As much as I loved creating CoOL PrOFiles , my gut tells me this idea wouldn’t carry over as well in 2023.

That said, people love showing their unique personalities, so custom designing how your notes appear to others (past just changing profile pics and banners) might turn out to work.

This is interesting to me as the great divide between myspace and Facebook in large part revolved around people no longer visiting profiles often, and instead just getting stuff fed to them in a single feed. It would be cool to have some enhanced control over profile though to mark things like..

- favorite X other accounts, with short lavels (e.g. cool dev, great wine maker, zapper)

- top X notes (I wrote or others)

- full color controls for the profile view of background, text, links and, background image with sane defaults

I kind of had the reverse of that idea. Allow notes to carry some amount of styling that the note author could create.

It would probably be pure chaos in a Twitter-like timeline, but in another style of client, it would allow authors to present some sort of visual style to the readers.

Yeeeep. Like I was saying, something as straightforward as how Slack does it would make a world of difference in the customization.

And honestly might free devs up to work on more things if they didn’t want to stress too hard over styling additional themes.

I think something similar to creating a webpage on WordPress would be cool, you can drag and drop all the UI elements you want, change their icons and stuff, and then you click submit and it compiles a client for you would be very cool. I'm skeptical of building those features into existing clients would work well, it seems like any program that does that lags like a mofo.

As a separate matter I think having a similar tool to create something like a storefront would be awesome. I can imagine a store where the seller could live stream themselves building the products in the center with a few products arranged along the sides, and then you can live chat the seller asking information about the products.

I think people should be able to set up their own client vibes, relays, etc. If they want to create their own social ecosystem totally separate they can.

Nostr needs a second community to adopt it. Communities can join together later like voltron.
