I was at the dentist with my 2-year-old son for a mandatory routine check-up.

The dentist: So you use fluoride toothpaste when you brush his teeth, right?

Me: No, and that is on purpose. It is a decision we made based on lots of research.

The dentist: 🀨 In Denmark, it is recommended to use fluoride toothpaste.

Me: Sure, but it is fortunately a free country where everyone can still decide for themselves what kinds of treatment they want to undergo, just like you can choose not to get your kids vaccinated.

The dentist: 😬 I have to tell you that we have other families who don’t use fluoride, and it has gone wrong.

Me: I am not changing my mind on this.πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Me thinking: I had 8 cavities my self in my baby teeth despite using fluoride every day, so fluoride is not the answer a propper human diet is, so why would I use a neuro toxin on my child.

Consider firing your dentist

Vitamin K and tongue posture > dentists and orthos

Yep my kids get lots of K2 and we work on the tongue postue 😊

I used to get fluoride treasments as a kid. I never got cavities. But now as an adult I filter my water, I use no toothpaste at all and guess what!? Still no cavities! My dentist says whatever I'm doing is great and to keep doing it.

I try not to eat much sugar. I have an electric toothbrush and a waterpik. I brush my teeth with the electric toothbrush once a day, at night. I use the waterpik every few weeks.

I go to the dentist for checkups every 6 months.

Oh, I also have a tongue scraper that I use daily.

this is all way more than you need

I think it would be if I cut sugars completely.

some fruit should okay, right?

I'd be fine with berries during their season. But right now I'm eating other sugary stuff too.

it's one hell of a drug

It really is. My mom is like "sugar in moderation is fine". I tell her I'm addicted and I cannot eat it in moderation.

I went keto and I was doing grea, then I relapsed on sugart. I want to start carnivore now, but stopping the sugar consumption is really tough.

extreme diets aren't for everyone. just make a new rule: absolutely no refined sugar, ever

I'm sure it would work for me. At the end of my keto time (I was on it for 2 years), I was pretty much carnivore and I loved it.

I feel like I'm missing out to much when I eat that way, but to each their own!

I don't argue with (trained) doctors anymore. Found a book years ago at a genbrug shop that explained the teeth are nourished by what you eat and not what you put on them.

exactly this

Mouth breathing at night is the cause of cavities. This information is from my dentist.
