Nostr Web Client

I uninstalled X. There's no going back. Twitter hasn't felt like home since the conversation and signal moved to Nostr in December 2022. And now with X, it's even more apparent. With the rebrand of Twitter to X showing up on my phone yesterday, it seemed like the right time.

After #MarchOfTwitter, I showed myself that I could leave if I wanted to, but I continued to check out Twitter every few days or weeks, depending on my mood. However, using Twitter has felt like a chore over the last 8 months. I did it out of habit or boredom. It's not fun. I get zero value from it.

I just now tried a link post. I took a snapshot and posted on twitter but still I'm feeding the trolls. theres a #^%$ load of them there. I may look like them if I don't cut the cord. I may not want to bring those ugly trolls here. If your wife's there, I'll take back what I said.

🤣🤣 now that would be a feat, wouldn't it? I'd rather convince them to use SimpleX, but it's probably a bit too new for them right now. Once it matures a bit I may be able to get them to migrate from Signal to SimpleX.

I quit posting. What's the point? All I see is an ocean of blue check opinions. It's censorship based on compliance.

I only use a couple of non-bitcoin lists now. Bitcoin twitter is not censorship resistant. Discussions about bitcoin are better on nostr.

Still on tw for the time being, but I left reddit for similar reasons some time ago, I was shadow-banned, my bitcoin nft post was automatically censored there, they even did not let the community vote on my posts but outright shadow-banned my post with bots.

I'm not a bitcoiner but bitcoiners are "my people" (fiat skeptics, ancaps, self-reliant, etc)

I do miss the dissident right (eg Auron McIntyre) and the awakening liberals (eg Bret Weinstein)

I hope we get a greater degree of ideological diversity here in the future

I ditched Twitter months ago when my account was suspended suddenly, and they wanted me to verify tel numbers and email after 'unusual activity'

Granted, I lost a lot of good people to follow over there, but the thinking was the trend is only going one way. It's a dead end - Musk or no Musk.

Today I also discovered the X app on my mobile.

Haven't returned to the Bird app since #MarchOfTwitter. The love of nostr held me tight and gave me a new home.

Your note gave me Signal and I definitely disconnected from X/Twitter and uninstalled it, no way back.

To leave or to stay on twitter X?

Leave: focus on decentralized alternatives, put your time where you mouth is, consistency, don't feed centralized solutions / censorship, opaque algo

Stay: # 1 argument reach (tw still has 500M users), watching the competition, spreading the word for tw alternatives, supporting the crypto community there
