Yes, the Proxium relay is doing this: https://github.com/dezh-tech/ddsr/tree/main/proxium

Soon we will run an instance for nostr:nprofile1qqst72lw22q3f8rux5846y4wxt63f3uxflcsspgc9aqhs5uv93ppqpcpz4mhxue69uhk5etvd3ukv6tndqhxcctwvshszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qghwaehxw309aex2mrp0yh8qunfd4skctnwv46z7rsvwnd and users will have access to it too without any additional configuration or payments.

It broadcasts your note to all other relays and fetches notes from all other relays.

You can even publish a list of relays you want the proxium to read or write to.

This is awesome! Once its up ill add it to my profile. I hope unspecified means it sends / receives as much as possible (without spam is fine).

Of course. If you set a list, it uses that, if you don't, it used a huge default list for your.

If I ever want to host it myself does it also act as a standalone relay or would it need to be paired with a secondary standalone one?

Its standalone. It connects to other relays to proxy them, but the other relays don't have to be your, they cloud be any public / private relay you wish.

So, this is the only software you want/have to to run. 😵‍💫

Both self-host and nostr:nprofile1qqst72lw22q3f8rux5846y4wxt63f3uxflcsspgc9aqhs5uv93ppqpcpz4mhxue69uhk5etvd3ukv6tndqhxcctwvshszrnhwden5te0dehhxtnvdakz7qghwaehxw309aex2mrp0yh8qunfd4skctnwv46z7rsvwnd service will be good options to go with.

Meant it more in the sense if it would be able to store the messages locally or if its merely a proxy.

Currently experimenting with docker just for fun.

No its just a proxy and don't store anything. I can add a store or persistent flag to it.

Currently it's under development and it can be too slow. But I'm working on it to publish the first version.
