My new favorite use of chatgpt: write in plain text and ask it to format in markdown. Does a surprisingly good job!
Discussion
I just used it to make a few lines of code for my new website that allows me to take lighting payments with a button press. WOOT!
I've done this for formatting Markdown for an Anki import tool before. If the content isn't too sensitive, it's a great first-pass general text manipulation tool (rather than having to think about how to do it with sed/grep/awk).
Of course, if those are the right tools, GPT's also pretty good at running up a first draft of the script...
I write all my notes in markdown, and use chatGPT to convert it to HTML for publishing the podcast. Saves me a few minutes it took every time to manually format. Was a pain in the ass.
Yep. I use Ulysses to write in Markdown - export wherever. Only have to remember one format.
Which markdown editor do you use? Obsidian might be something to look into, afaik it has html export or at least plugins that do it. The ability to link notes with each other and create a personal wiki is the best feature though.
Lol, that’s exactly what I use. Didn’t know there was HTML export plug-in. That would probably save me a step.
There’s also a ChatGPT plugin if you want to add in that step as well lol

The latter one is based on pandoc hence you can also export pdf, word, epub etc.
