If you have a service that you'd like to monetize with micro payments, run your own mint on top of your Lightning node.

It's easier than writing an accounting system from scratch and the implementation weight on the backend is virtually zero (have I been paid? Ok!). The complexity is offloaded to the client side. For that, we have a bunch of libraries that help you integrate a simple Cashu wallet into basically any frontend you'd like.

I totally forgot to mention an accidental byproduct that's totally not the point of it all, promise, which is insane privacy.

On top of your lighting node.... So running a lightning node is a whole mission in its self right?

Leider nichts mehr in Umbrel oder)und Start9, was man nutzen könnte.

If it would work for more then a month without crashing and invalidating all the nuts.

Useless, untrustworthy, bad reputation would all be what I get. No positives

are mints coming back to lnbits ? i saw they seem to be removed in a recent update from the extensions marketplace.

I don't think so, at least I'm not aware of any plans. It was too much work to maintain separate implementations.

do you see there being a plug n play mint solution that, say, a user comftorable with a start9 could run soon? Or probably best left to people that can get dirty in the command line ?

Thanks

Good question! Hopefully nostr:npub12rv5lskctqxxs2c8rf2zlzc7xx3qpvzs3w4etgemauy9thegr43sf485vg can answer.

ya, i mean i know its possible but i'll be curious. I think it'd be cool say if i were to run a mint that my local neighborhood could use as part of a farmers market, for example. In like a wildest dreams of anarchy scenario hahah. But something i could run on a server in my house without having to worry too much about it for the community.

Your insights are greatly appreciated

What do you think it would take for DNMs to accept ecash instead of Monero? 🤔

cashu is built on LN so they'd have all the extra LN management cost and the cost of the headaches and time spent, for very little gain. while XMR is a breeze and just works. if there was on-chain ecash that would make more sense for their models, but then they could be ecash mints of both btc or xmr so at that point they still wouldn't be replacing Monero

It also adds an additional rug risk to user and vendors; the market escrow itself(is multisig currently or theoretically possible with ecash?) + ecash mint. I doubt most vendors are going to manage their own LN node. Ecash is a big convenience upgrade for users though so might be cool to at least see the option.

I wonder if there are any mints that exist right now that are Tor-only

I'll admit, I'm not super well-versed in cashu, but isn't the point that you can just use whatever mint you want? I don't think DNMs would need to run their own infrastructure. Honestly, they probably shouldn't since you can pretty much guarantee everything happening in that mint is illegal activity.

Bitch… I want to minimize and NOT have to run my own lightning infra

I'm over the moon to announce that my investment with Tammy A. Jeff broker on Facebook. has been a huge success. It's a reminder that with consistency, determination, and a willingness to take calculated risks always finally lead to success I've got my portfolio successfully with no stress.
