I don't care what anyone says

All the "bitcoin influencers" who focus their time and energy on Twitter and YouTube (vs nostr and zap stream) are still fiat maxis

Bitcoin is both P2P cash and digital capital

But we cannot lose the freedom money aspect.

And it's 100% up to CURRENT HODLERS to hold the line

TRUTH

They will still make more bitcoin by using those services. I don’t blame them at all, I would do the same thing 🤷‍♂️

I'm seeing it more and more each day

Agreed. Defining your line and sticking to it while under pressure is heroes work. Most people are pussies and cave under pressure. Don't be a pussy.

How can you communicate to the masses if you are on a niche platform… that doesn’t make sense. Cross platform posting and encouraging people to come to Nostr makes the most sense.

I didn't say cut them off.

I said FOCUS on them.

Telling other people what they should focus their time and energy on sounds pretty “fiat” to me

I don't care what anyone says

All the "bitcoin influencers" who focus their time and energy on KYC'd services (vs P2P exchanges and privacy solutions) are still fiat maxis

Bitcoin is both P2P cash and digital capital

But we cannot lose the freedom money aspect.

And it's 100% up to CURRENT HODLERS to hold the line and only promote KYC-free privacy respecting services

How else are we gonna reach the Normies Who aren’t on NOSTR and don’t even know what bitcoin is

Real life interactions with friends, family a guy in a taxi, a girl in the bar, your doctor, plumber, barber. Every maxi should persistently do it. I like to tip people via Lightning for their service. I started doing it for my barber, just send him first 5k sats, let’s see how it goes later.

I convinced my close friend that is entrepreneur to invest and put his car rental on BTCmap.

😟 I make YouTube content 😟

Twitter yes, I still like YouTube

Bitcoiners who still post on Twitter are hooked on the algorithms and driven by insecurities, whether they admit it or not. And spare me the excuse of “that’s where most of my customers are.”

if it wasn't for people posting on twitter and YT I may never have found NOSTR

KEY difference here that's often missed:

Bitcoiners say "both and", whereas those still lost in fiat land say "either or".

Bitcoiners have a growth mindset and believe in expanding the pie, whereas fiat maxis have a scarcity mindset and believe the pie can only be subdivided into smaller pieces.

Fiat is oppression. Bitcoin is freedom.

Keep doing what you do, Nostr plebs 🧡

Respectfully- and not directed to you really just generally

I know I was never actually on Twitter but lurked on Nitter which was a gateway to Dr Jeff and many others which led here.

I think say Bitcoin University focus on you tube is probably a much more effective gateway to nostr as well.

I cannot myself sometimes square messages I interpret on this forum (not from you, just my amalgamation) that seem to simultaneously say:

- spread the message of nostr bitcoin in person to people you know and

- self custody single sig and

- don’t actually let anyone know you have bitcoin to avoid 5 dollar wrench attack and

- got to use bitcoin for real peer to peer transactions in daily life

- stack sats all the time but don’t use any of the obvious straightforward easy ways to actually buy them (eg Coinbase?) instead use some other much harder way using some non kyc path

I know that I am a noob and somehow all that makes sense together but it sure does always at the same time to me. And even as a noob I bet I am miles ahead of normies out there. But that took work and it was a lot easier because some people with high integrity influenced from Nitter and you tube.

There is no doubt there is an advantage to strengthening a tribe by casting out those not towing the pure loyalty line.

But there is a risk of just creating echo chambers as well. And those least likely to have the time energy and ability to find hidden rabbit holes are probably the people that need it the most (busy parents, hard working poorer people, those who are too poor or ignored by trad finance, youth ).

I myself think if Bitcoin is early then it’s way too early to ask high integrity people to pull off of non nostr platforms. Let them try to reach the masses.

Respectfully, as someone who hardly uses either one, I disagree.
