I don't remember, but should it matter? The button is static on the left sidebar so I assume it always does the same thing roughly.

Maybe if you have a different button close to the relay name at the top that makes publishing to that specific relay a thing?

Let me be more methodical here.

There are 4 types of posts:

1. to outbox/inbox relays

2. to outbox/inbox relays and also to the currently active relay

3. only to the currently active relay

4. only to the currently active relay with "-"

(Now thinking about I think we can go up to 16 combinations or perhaps 32, but these give us an idea already.)

I think 2 is never desirable. If it is it's a niche case that can be achieved manually with the "republish" functionality.

I can't think of any use cases for 3.

Because you assume a single npub, but what if you have a bunker at the back that uses particular keypairs/nyms depending on the relay; then you might not want it to also go to your regular outbox, assuming it says something about your identity.

Then again, you could also reframe that as that nym having a different outbox, beign that particular relay

Currently, if "send only to" switch is off, it’s case 2. If it’s on, it’s case 4.

Are you suggesting that when it’s off it should actually be case 1?

This logic was written a long time ago, back when there was no "send only to" switch. Looking at it now, I agree with you

Yes.

Maybe instead of a single boolean toggle it's two mutually exclusive buttons, like a "radio" input: "send to my relays" and "send only to [active relay]".

Right now, when the switch is off, it only publishes to the inbox/outbox relays. As for the UI/UX, I might need to think about it a bit more.
