First, the advertisement model will change, as you can directly zap your end customer. You are testing that model.
Second, with the bitcoin standard your business model will not be to expand and grow your reach trying to beat inflation. You just need to grow your bitcoin treasury while serving the niche market.
It's exactly what I'm aiming for. You'll have understood that I specialize directly in news so that newcomers to Nostr don't have to go back to X to stay informed. It's a way for me to work for the community and animate Nostr as best I can 🙌
They are providing something genuinely useful in the world. Period. There is no "business model" like with all the current social media companies where users are actually the product.
Provide value = Get value
Simple, ethical, powerful.

Things with “proof of work”
This keeps me up as well.
For now this place feels like a refuge. Away from people playing the game to get attention, as the algos serve you up something to spike your dopamine or piss you off.
So I wonder how the game changes here. People literally paying you to get attention? That sounds like a step in the right direction.
I wonder how creators’ minds change about how they make content.
I wonder how consumers minds change and if the feeling of not having wasted time after using Nostr scales to millions of users.
Will attention spans lengthen or when short form vertical endless scrolling comes, will we just fall back into the old traps.
Also what’s fascinating is that Bitcoiners are bootstrapping this network. Many Bitcoiners who I meet are simply fantastic, fascinating people. And they are the ones who will reap the rewards of joining early. Does Bitcoin culture permeate the entire network?

I have dream… and one day, this dream will come true.
They have their storefronts on nostr and selling goods/services locally and globally.
hopefully the society heals a bit and "looking pretty on the internet" is not a goal of the younger generation anymore. And then using that attention to peddle the worst of consumerist crap.
Maybe instead we can use nostr as a place to exchange ideas, have meaningful conversations, coordinate humanity around new initiatives and distribute new advancements in technology.

I mean we need more black markets so I’m sure some will be making 10million sats a month offering quality products and services but I just don’t see it happening for 99% of “content creators” who currently live off fiat advertising sponsorships on ytube or twatch

love this post, I've been working at researching and getting better at OSINT to write articles. Not important enough to matter, but after recent changes to my favorite platform, I don't see why I'd keep writing over there.
