I spend time on bitcoin clubhouse everyday.

It’s an audio space where bitcoiners come together and crack jokes, talk about the days news, life, different investments, bitcoin stuff obviously.

Because everyone is a bitcoiner, we have a radically open free speech culture in the group.

The group has straight people, white people, conservatives, gays, lesbians, jewish people, black conservatives, black liberals, left leaning people, libertarians, women, Indian people, Mexican people, Canadians, Brit’s etc…

It’s a broad cross section of American and western life.

Topics are hotly debated in real time and arguments break out often as well as lots of laughing and joking.

This is America 🇺🇸

This is who we are.

No pussy terrorists will ever take that from us.

The show goes on.

What happened to Charlie Kirk today is why I frame things the way I do.

Kirk was very tame, only a mildly critical voice and ultimately still a member of the very paradigm that killed him. But, he was tolerable and could be reasoned with.

What response can we, those few who rail against said paradigm entirely, expect?

I'll throw out some words of well-wishing, in the place of dissidents: stay smart, stay watchful, get together.

Calling Nostr users “nerds” is like calling Navy SEALs “gym bros.” People on X and other platforms fundamentally misunderstand what they’re looking at.

A nerd is someone with narrow interests and poor social calibration. What you’re actually encountering here are polymath-level intellects who can seamlessly transition from cryptographic proofs to economic theory to philosophical frameworks, often within a single thread.

These are people operating at cognitive levels that would make your college professors weep. If that intimidates them enough to reduce us to “nerds,” that says everything about their intellectual ceiling and nothing about ours.

I have not studied the full scope of this attack yet, but from what I hear, it can impact websites/webapps (including "local" webapps like Signal Desktop) and cause them to display a thief's address instead of the intended one.

This means hardware wallets will correctly display the actual send-to address, but you the human may compare the address to one that has already been replaced!

Regardless of what wallet you use, verify the address you are sending to without trusting a computer. Call your recipient and verify verbally.

It’s just popped into my head when reading this last post of Lyn. In that post and subsequent comments she made several remarks that don’t align with someone who cares about btc as monetary network (my personal opinion)

You lost me when you said a “paying tx is a valid tx”…I don’t believe someone who care about btc as money would ever mouth those words

Murena Fairphone 5 isn't available in the USA.

Nice thing about Murena is they set up their phone and integrate it with their eCloud/Murena cloud ecosystem. (Their Murena cloud is Nextcloud)

With something like Graphene, you have to set all that up yourself, which I do because I like to host my own Nextcloud.

Also, Murena is a UK company (France) so they're beholden to laws that require them to give 3-letters access to your private data.

That's not the whole story. As I understand it, you will still relay spam, just in a way that is more costly to node runners since it stays in the UTXO set. Imo both sides have reasonable technical and governance perspectives but some "in the community" are turning this into a political battle, slandering the other side, as you just did. Ironically, the people trying to frame this as "core is evil/stupid/corrupt/shitcoiners" may be more likely to be shitcoiners trying to fracture the community of the top dog. It's simply a philisophical difference of opinion on how to deal with spam.

Just my opinion.
