Pushups, downward dog, and decline sit ups have changed the game for me.

And a good chiropractor. I had to change a couple times until I found one that was worth it.

Yes, this is true. Holding a lunge position while pushing your pelvis forward also helps a lot.

As a walker massimalist, 10000 daily steps is my religion, so more back pain after conversion.

Deadlifts help to. Doesn’t need to be anything crazy like 2.5x body weight. Just enough the minimum effective dosage. Your back in 30 years will thank you

20 push ups (or equivalents) whever you think of it, no excuses, do this while programming 12 hours a day and you'll feel like a fucking yoga teacher.

Doing superman's on the floor or surfing does that same job for the lower back.
