When you think about how the Internet is just networks allowing trusted computers into their network, it's petty shocking to see how far we have scaled this. It's the ultimate pyramid scheme.

Bring back cjdns for mesh networking without ISP.
I remember some years ago in Spain there was a huge community mesh with simple wifi and ethernet, because ISP sucked hard in most area at the time.
Too bad it didn't last.
It is still our backbone. A number of older protocols are fully decentralized and secure in conjunction with Cjdns.

Nostr web services (NWS) could also be useful as an overlay network. I've heard lots of good things about the mesh ISPs in Barcelona.
