Sometimes it’s just better not to engage with the "maxis"
Discussion
I tend to not, since I am not, nor do I believe it productive or interesting to be.
Although I think bitcoin will be the gold standard in the future, to think that it is the only one with anything to offer seems foolish to me.
I think I've heard as, choose your battles wisely.
Sometimes the best engagement is to ask questions. Let them answer so they can hear it for themselves.
Playing the fool is the hardest position to play and requires a true master to be effective. Just don't go full retard.
What do you do with people who don't understand that triple entry accounting doesn't work if you don't have the link back to original issuance?
Or with people who don't understand that without something like proof of work as a real world cost there is no apolitical way to reach consensus?
Or those who don't understand that the primary goal (above all else) is to create monetary assurances & solve trust problems that destroy our ability to trade & allocate resources?
Or with those who don't understand network effects, or who don't understand the inherent limitations of broadcast networks & why a layered architecture is necessary, or that anything an altcoin can do can be done in layers on top of #Bitcoin without having to deal with any exchange rate complications?
I think some people are just destined to learn their lessons the hard way.
then you wont ever learn anything
Why won’t I ever learn anything lol?
Can't learn anything staring at shadows on your cave wall. Without engaging fully getting out of your comfort zone, how can one learn who's wrong?
15 years later alongside tens of thousands of examples in the trash heap, the scoreboard speaks for itself 🤷
'maxi' is a shitcoin term created to ignore the scoreboard and spout all sorts of nonsense.
it's as if the 'maxis' are onto something; plenty have been in your shoes 🤔
If not wanting to engage with people, try a book? Ethics of Money Production is a classic
