Question for you all;

A man wanted to get home quickly and instead of waiting for his employer to escort him home via a vehicle he decided to walk home alone in the darkness in the Dinokeng Game Reserve South Africa. Sadly 3 male lions attacked, killed and ate him, the Game Reserve has now applied to kill these 3 lions for this attack- do you think these wild lions that live in this region deserve to be killed over this- considering that there already is a massive decline in lions in the past 20 years due to poaching? 😞🤔

No. I don’t think lions should be killed for being lions if they’re in a game reserve.

They are wild lions that live in this area in a pure wild reserve!

Yeah, seems to me that the gentleman who died made a bad decision.

Sadly he did and now these lions will pay the price for his stupidity

He knew the risks. Sad for him, but I’m sadder for the lions. 🦁

No one is meant to walk around at night alone in these reserves!

So incredibly sad for these gorgeous lions 🦁😭

This right here. Punish the lions for Lioning??

Sadly yes 😭

Absolutely not!!

So barbaric to kill these lions 😭

It’s beyond barberic! So heartbreaking 💔

Nope. Sad, but FAFO.

No, it's not like the lions came to his house to eat him...

Exactly but he went into theirs and now they are going to pay the awful price 😭

Hell no. You can't blame the lions. That's what lions do. That dude fucked up.

Yes but sadly they will be killed over his stupidity

That's so sad 😞

Tough call.

When bears eat human food they supposedly have to be destroyed because it spirals into a dependency and boldness as they continue to seek it.

After lions taste human, are they more predisposed to seek it?

I actually believe this is the reason… I know they had to start doing that to elephants that killed humans as well, because once the elephants know they can, they started to attack villages and would teach younger ones to do the same

It’s a little different with elephants, there are some male elephants that as they get into a hormonal imbalance they become a little destructive and attack other elephants as well. But this is mainly due to sexual frustration by males.

They could be, but they are lions so it’s highly advisable to never ever walk alone at night in any of the game reserves.

Lions do not go after people in cars/vehicles during the day out on safari as they cannot distinguish a human and the vehicle that they are in- to the lion it’s one whole item and therefore too big to take on. But step outside the vehicle and they will attack you without a doubt.

It definitely is sad that the lions have to pay for the stupid choice of a dumb person

Absolutely

No

Agreed

I think animals with paws and claws should be left alone. Hooves and antlers are fair game.

All should be left alone 😞

Ah, what if it’s being eaten and shared with those that struggle to buy meat at inflated grocery prices?

As long as it’s not hunted and killed for so-called sport.

Agreed. Killing is not a “sport”.

Stupidly leads to stupid decisions. No don’t kill the lions. Dude knew what he was walking into. 🦁🍽️

Completely agree

I’ve heard the argument before that if animals get a taste for human flesh after this type of attack then they are more likely to attack again. I have no idea if this is a valid reason or not but killing the lions should be avoided. It was the guys own fault as he should have known the risks.

Whether or not it has attacked before if any human or domestic animal is out alone at night in a game reserve a lion will attack it.

The main reason is to appease the family that something is going to be done to revenge this man’s death.

No! At most I would relocate them, but never, ever kill them.

They feel they need to avenge this man’s death for his family, so incredibly sad 😢

They don't deserve to be killed. This makes me quite sad to hear. If a lion kills someone and aquires a taste for human flesh, it's only doing what is in it's nature. It's inherent. Humans have been killing animals as a means of replenishment for who knows how long. The man should've found a place to hide for the night instead of wandering around the pitch-black game reserve. That's his fault. Leave the lions alone. 👍

He sadly didn’t wait for his employer to drive him home so he decided to walk alone in the darkness and the lions attacked.

Sadly they wish to avenge his death via killing these lions now, how barbaric 😭

This makes me even more concerned for tigers. Here's a story, and I'll give you the short version: I visited the San Frandisco Zoo when I was... definitely under 10 years old. I don't remember the exact age, but I wasn't in high school. There was a caged tiger that approached me when I got close and it was very friendly! It shocked the hell outta me! 😂 But, it proves humans and animals can get along if you put in enough effort. Just sayin'!

Agreed 🙏

That's fucked up!

I’m confused. Instead of letting the three lions eat him why didn’t the man eat the three lions?

You’re easily confused 😂

😂

Idiot 🤣

Well you are older than him 🤣

He wasn’t American😂

Ah. Makes sense then. Three lions against an average American isn’t a fair fight…for the lions.

😂

I could go for a snack. Just sayin.

You and your guns blazing 😆

😱 wouldn’t know which ones to pick. I only have two hands 😭

Not tough enough to go in there without them?

It’s ok for them to have guns too.

Nope nothing just your bare hands!

That would probably just piss me off more. It almost makes feel bad for them.

Seems kind of dumb to kill predatory animals that eat freshly killed meat and furthermore do these people think that killing three lions will be a deterrent for other wild predatory animals not to kill humans?

To bad for the guy that got ate but TBH “Life’s a risk”.

Exactly! Sadly his family want something done, however it won’t bring him back!

I have no sympathy for the person who was killed and eaten.

But once you go black you never go back. The Lions will be looking for more tasty morsels.

So the poor creatures have to go. I would have killed them that night rather than be eaten.

But I would have never done what he did without lights and a LOT of firepower..😐

The rules of the area are the you don’t walk alone outside after dark, period.

Thank you..🙂

I see it differently.

A man wanted to die quickly, so he hired three male lions to do the job under the cover of darkness in the Dinokeng Game Reserve, South Africa.

By then, who knows, maybe he hired way more than three lions and not only males – that's what such men usually do – but not all of the lions reported for duty.

Of course, my vote is to leave the poor creatures alone, including those accomplices who didn't show up.

That is kinda funny, but sadly the man’s family want them killed.

😭

I always do!

I don't think we should be too quick to condemn the lions here. This is their natural habitat after all! Maybe the reserve should focus more on educating people about lion safety protocols rather than punishing the animals for following their instincts. Though I do feel for the poor guy who got mauled - next time call an Uber.

There are clear rules and regulations within these areas that no one is to walk around alone at night. He was meant to wait for his employer to drive him home, sadly he didn’t wish to wait and went ahead on his own.

No. Two thoughts: 1. Isn't the name "Reserve" means that they try to preserve an endangered species there? And I assume this endangered species is not "human". 2. Its a pity Dinokeng Reserve hadn't sent a memo to these *stupid* lions (living in their natural habitat btw) that there was a massive increase in a population of morons living near the Reserve and that every lion should be aware of this unfortunate and deadly for animals trend.

Yes these poor lions didn’t get the memo!

No, the lions just did what they are born for.

💯

Unfortunately, yes - they need to be killed. They ate him as a target of opportunity. Now any human around there is prey. That guy made an unsafe situation around wild animals much worse for every other human there.

Hunters hunt. It's what they do.

Killing animals that kill stupid humans is idiotic. The "morality" of it is insane.

Absolutely 💯
