Hi nostr, its been a good day on the homestead. I think we got everything ready for the cold weather. We are due for the coldest temps Mon. and Tues nights, going into the teens, which is cold for us.

I've started setting up an old laptop to use as my dedicated bitcoin and finance machine. I'm in the process of installing Linux Mint Debian Edition on it. I've been using Mint for a few years now, and love it. But I want to try LMDE for this machine, just to see if its any different. I had forgotten how to get into the secure boot function of the laptop, so had to go find a vid to show me how. But its all good now, just have to personalize it for my use.

Everything else is good, and its the end of another busy day. The chickens are giving me eggs every day, so I'm happy about that. Glad we got more chickens.

I've been meaning to setup one of my old laptops with Linux so I can put my old block erupters to use and see if I can produce a few pennies of BTC. 3.3 Gh will cost me far more in power than it will make most likely.

Enjoy the cold, it was fun out in the -20F windchill today here.

We're getting ours right now currently 3°F with a forecast low of -9° and a high of 6° Saturday and a low of 1°. Smooth sailing after that climbing back into the teens.

Not that extreme here. But the bad thing is that nothing in texas is built for sub freezing temps, and our low temps, although not frequent, seem to be getting lower.

Oh damn didn't know you were in the great state of Texas! I wasn't trying to one up you and now I think your temps may be more severe comparatively than ours. We expect low single digits up here in eastern Washington from time to time so it's built into our infrastructure. Good luck and stay warm.
