For the "safety of kids", some bitcoiners are fine with censorship as long as it virtue signals their perceived moral superiority to the ever listening algorithms. Looks to me like someone is pushing a narrative and social media "influencers" are happy to carry the baton into the corners of the bothered bitcoiners.

Deliberate attack on Core? Hidden agenda? Go figure.

Possible gain? How can we know.. either virtue signaling or a case of 'I know how to fix Bitcoin'. But might also be something entirely different.

I don’t think you understand what virtue signaling means. He’s posing a legitimate problem on top of the already existing problem of turning nodes into jpg storage. The change allowing for the data increase doesn’t belong on the bitcoin blockchain, is antithetical to the decentralized mindset and poses future moral hazards. If you can’t talk to those issues and want to continually engage in ad hominem attacks, then myself nor anyone else really cares about your thoughts.
