Normally I would agree with you but I've found that cat litter box clean outs are a different level of smell than the typical trash can so I use those scented trash bags to collect what I've cleaned out the cat litter box to be thrown away.

Oh God, I found this out not too long ago when my roommate accidentally brought back the most horrendous quote-unquote lavender smelling trash bags. He bought them by mistake. the artificial lavender smell was worse than the trash I was putting in the bag.

We have those lavender trash bags still, but they're tucked way, way back in the bottom of the sink and only used if absolutely necessary. And we're too lazy to go to the store to get replacements.
Literal same boat. I had to put them away and have another box of terribly scented, but not as bad bags that I’m using in the meantime

👀 this might make you not want to be my friend anymore...I buy the "fresh scent" ones, mainly because they have the most bags in the box and I got used to them when I had pee and shitty diapers in the trash.
When we did vanlife, we once got lavender smelling toilet paper!!! I don't think we had even opened them and I was feeling a headache from the strong scent between the store and my in-laws house whom we were visiting. I'm kinda glad we were there cause we could put them outside. We never used a single square of that toilet paper!
