This evening my maternal grandfather, Howard Pattison died at the age of 101 years old. He used to say he was never going to die. When asked what he meant he would respond, "What do I need to die for?"

When talking about him with someone else I always used to joke that he was never going to die. And, the honest truth is that until a couple of hours ago I truly believed it.

I’m sorry for your loss. 🫂 But you have earned a guardian in heaven.

My maternal grandfather is 98 years young (he says). I consider it a blessing to still have conversations with him.
