I like the app but the google repos are a turn off.

Firefox has developed local translation models, downloaded on-demand. Would be ideal but not sure it works on mobile

Could you use something like https://lingva.ml or LibreTranslate instead of Google?

This feature is not working at all on devices without google services (i.e GrapheneOS). For me, it's not working.

Also, I think this would be better if we had a button to translate on demand and not automatically. I am bilingual, I don't want everything translated.

please don't do it sutomatically, a lot of times we need to read the original post, it's great to have the small link "translate" down below every post like Twitter
