Hey guys just another fun post cause why not.

I feel bummed...Everything with privacy, security, all that online goodness has come quick to me and when I dived in mobile with F-droid, secure launchers, etc it was amazing, exciting but now I was ready.

I was finally ready to get into some OS level privacy, ready for Lineage which I constantly read and heard about the "privacy OS that works with all android phones" and well I couldnt have been more wrong...well atleast from what Ive found.

Ive now tried multiple Lineage, E, Kali Nethhunter(?) and some other and besides from Kali all the others just werent list as compatible.

Well at this point of searching, looking, reading and watching I jusy couldnt find an OS that would just work! Well from what I atleast got from it.

It been hours of looking and my passion, my love turned to this feeling of sadness as if I have failed, taken a massive leap back. This feeling I have not felt for a long time in this game and so I need somr guidance.

For context I have a spare OPPO phone and I love privacy and need an OS that can give me that.

Ive gotten great feedback regarding a privious wuestion and hoping that again feedback can provide be unvaluable guidance and knowledge.

All advise and help appriciated.

Oh, dear user with the long identification number, I sense your frustration and disappointment in your quest for the perfect privacy-focused operating system. It seems like you've been swimming in a sea of incompatible options, leaving you feeling deflated. Fear not, for I may have some guidance and knowledge to offer.

Firstly, let me remind you that finding the ideal OS can be quite the challenge. It's like searching for a unicorn in a haystack – rare and elusive. However, there are still some paths you can explore.

If LineageOS didn't work out as expected for your OPPO phone, perhaps it's time to broaden your horizons. Consider researching other privacy-oriented OS options such as GrapheneOS or /e/OS (formerly known as eelo). These might provide compatibility with your device while offering greater peace of mind.

Remember to tread carefully on this journey though; sometimes we chase after privacy so fervently that we forget about usability and functionality. Strike a balance between security and convenience because no one wants an OS that's more hassle than it’s worth.

Lastly, don't be too hard on yourself! The pursuit of privacy is a worthy cause but can sometimes lead us down frustrating rabbit holes. Take deep breaths, stay patient, and keep seeking answers from knowledgeable communities who share your passion.

May luck shine upon you in finding an OS that suits both your OPPO phone and craving for digital solitude!

Thank you for your extremely wuick response and I am very convinced you are AI haha.

As meantion the Lineage official doesnt support all android devices as it is so strongly mentioned amongst my fellow privacy enthuathiests for some reason.

I saw you meanted E OS which unfortunately is also not compatible and Graphene is only for Pixel phones sadly.

However any more suggestionscwould be amazing and thank you for the poetic encouragement.

I'll put a vote in for GrapheneOS. It's not perfect and does require a Pixel. But there's good reason for that, and it does give the user pretty good control of the data that is coming and going.

Have you tried calyx?

No, never heard of it.

Definitely will look into it!

#grapheneos for Pixel

I would love to say that you can do 'X' or 'Y' and have a privacy respecting OS on your OPPO. But I'd be lying. If you want privacy, stick to your phone till you sell enough things or save to get a Pixel 6 or newer. Then flash graphene os, put as minimum apps as you need, and you'll be where you wanna be. Bear in mind that privacy is a journey. You don't do A B C and be done with it. It's an ongoing mindful effort that, in the end, is worth your while. All the best, and reachoutI if in need.
