Not siding with either Core or Knots at the moment, but this is certainly an interesting read on the topic by the Core dev proposing the change:

I urge you to read this in a through way, unless you want treat Core and Knots the same way sports fan treat their favorite teams.

More and better alternatives. If one player is dominating it's already wrong. Decentralization is that.

This debate has been draining in a way, but it was always going to happen. I'm personally going to partially tune out of it until v30 is out and real outcomes can be observed.

Long term we'll probably end up with at least two implementations, which should be healthier, but it's hard to tell how things are going to play out in the short term IMO.

I haven't really dove too deep into this whole thing but your post right there just made me be very very skeptical of anything Bitcoin Core to be honest...

So for me it's Bitcoin Knots all the way.

I mean, even without understanding the whole context,

cguida in the post makes great points. And then Antoine is just brushing them up like irrelevant. Meh, I don't buy it. Knots all the way.

That's what I think as well, but dismissing Core as a bad actor feels too much right now

Knots, Knots, Knots.

Don't trust a millimeter to people like this. It's the elite syndrome all over again.

Stop using Bitcoin Core.

This is not a neutral objective site imo.

Bitcoin Core hides their intentions behind a veil of sites which are controlled by the same entities employing and funding Core devs

This puts them in the role centralized and centralizing gatekeepers.

In these forums and mailing lists known malicious spammers interact as if the should be respected and be listened to.

They gaslighted and misdirected lack of inscription exploit fix for 2 years before their agenda became too obvious

Probably, my plan is anyways not to upgrade my Core V28 node for the foreseeable future, and maybe consider Knots when the time comes for security updates.
