Perhaps we can just accept there will always be gazillions of bots but we have an option to add other profile mutes of people we follow.

So for example I always Mute & Report crap I don’t want to see (Majority is Spam) so perhaps we as users have the option to once follow someone we like, we can also “add” all of that profiles muted accounts onto our own list. This way we have community marking spam and we could easily have own mute lists updated by copying the list of mutes from other users that we know have similar tolerance levels etc.

This way it encourages users to work together maintaining spam lists. and if you follow someone you will both have similar filters to cut out rubbish… It’s only the users who don’t follow you who see the rubbish… That Nostr itself is unable to clear everything …

Relays are already blocking massive numbers of accounts. If they weren't NOSTR would be a spam filled wasteland. NOSTR.band has sophisticated spam filtering techniques based on pagerank type algorithms and "trusted" users. This is why their feed is basically "clean". Your question might be if relays will ban users based on the report from One other user, or based on multiple reports. I think relays and clients are already banning many users based on One or multiple reports. For instance Child Porn is banned instantly by any good client or relay. Clients or relays who don't ban criminal behaviour will not succeed. #grownostr

We'll definitely get there. But hopefully by then every second user will have his own relay and the top 25 will not be able to dictate or hide anything.
