Would love to mud clay brick straw build such a home.

What’s the climate type? Humid, dry, temperate, hot?

Temperate. Hot humid summers, relatively mild winters (below freezing for most winter nights but mild days).

The straw/mudslip goes much faster than cob but it still takes a while to fill those walls! Was fun and satisfying, though, and the house feels amazing and insulates very well.

That's incredible! I've always wondered how often you need to change the straw insulation?

We're not planning to change it - those are the walls!

Looks amazing! Great work😊

Thank you, Maria! It's been a great project and has a lovely feel to it. The plaster work is ... let's say very rustic. We're better at plastering now than we were when we started!

Looks like alot of work, but the results look beaitiful

Learning as you go, its a good thing.

Looks SICK! Super good job! You even can manage the old windows since the rest of the house is so insanely efficient. I've got a boat load of windows I got from CL, just did a posting saying, "have windows? I'll come pick them up for free and tkae them away." Got a dozen respnses and have been using them since all over the farm. Your place looks amazing!

Thank you!

Yes, that's what we figured about the windows. The straw insulation is crazy good, so the single-pane old windows aren't a problem.

Great idea about CL and windows.

Amazing

that looks amazing ! how soon til you are finished?

Hi Nicole! My husband took two workshops to help prepare us for when we moved to our (raw) land a few years ago: a cob building workshop and a weekend with you πŸ™‚

We're pretty close to done: we need to grout the tiles and set up the wood stove (stovepipe hole into the ceiling/roof). We're hoping to settle in before Christmas.

that is so exciting. I'm sure I know you and don't know your social to person link. dm me who you are? I get so excited when people who have been to the workshop go forth and build their dreams!!!!

Epic! πŸ™Œ

LOVE to see people LIVING

Absolutely fantastic
